Welcome to my Website!

My name is Lolita, I am a Contemporary Fantasy Artist.

If you ask me to describe my work in one word, I'd answer: Dream.

I tend to imagine fantastic stories involving dragons, fairies or witches. I walk through the streets of London, and see invisible bridges that wizards can cross, children running after pixies and men and women chatting to animals beside them. Although I paint many subjects, and I work in different styles; in essence, I am still drawn to fantasy worlds.

To add to my -sometimes wild - imagination, I am also a strong believer of Achievement and Empowerment. Heroes may be flawed, but as I read somewhere before "perfect is boring" (I can't quite remember who said it, but thank you from the bottom of my heart for that). So, you may notice in my work that I create achievement through an idea or a story, a sense of Self-Belief and Greatness.

How it all started: I started drawing one lonely summer, where my mum bought me some mangas to help me pass time. So, if I did not say it before, merci maman, thanks to you, I became an artist. Needless to say, I loved drawing the characters I read. Then came "The Lord of the Ring: the Fellowship of the Ring". I really got hooked to the Middle Earth, Elves, Dwarves and Wizards. I thought that it was the coolest thing ever. I got my first easel at seventeen thanks to my first boyfriend; got accepted into an illustration school, which I was so excited about, but sadly life had other plans. I moved to London as an Au Pair, and left my art to the side for a while, but I picked it back up in 2014 around the time I got pregnant. Since my babies were born, I've been working on my art as a stress relief as well as my passion. I lost track of my goals for a little while, but now I realise that I am back on the right track.

"- Why Do you paint?

- Why do we breathe?"

To be honest, I never thought to put it into words before now.

I love to create pictures, to tell a story or give a message through a picture. I want to share my passion with everyone. On paper, it doesn’t matter if you are black, white or blue. It doesn’t matter if you are thin, fat, have curves or are a warrior skeleton! My imagination takes me to unknown places that I want to share with you and through you.

It is a blessing to have this gift and to bring happiness, laughter and sadness -among other things- in pictures.

Why would you buy Art, if it isn't to bring you a feeling -of joy, of peace, of Home? A painting needs to be pleasing to your senses. It also needs to make some kind of sense, even if it is an abstract artwork.

I want to fill every home and office with art, and you should want that too.

Because Art is beautiful, because it is there. But mostly because it gives hope in a world that can feel hopeless, it shares love in a world that is becoming too narcissist to notice it, and it gives beauty in a world that forgets how beautiful and magical it is.

All those ideas, those thoughts, come to me like a lovesick feeling, where I do not feel like myself, until I put the idea on paper. After that, I feel like I can breathe again. So, creating is a pretty important part of myself and in my life.

I hope that you really enjoy what I create. I am open to suggestions (constructive criticism), and even commission ideas. Make sure to share the love, and I hope to speak with you soon.

Your Artist, Lolita.
