Lolita Parekh

I found an old drawing of this wolf I had done a while ago. I wanted to draw it again on canvas, on a larger scale and with colours. At first I didn’t think about adding so many colours on the animal, but then I thought: “I want to show the energy flowing in him” and “I want to do something a bit different”. I like to read a good fantasy book, and so this metamorph and shifters where in my head at the time of this piece. I decided that the colours were showing the wolf’s energy, as well as the fact that maybe, this animal is not what it seems, that it is more.
I used gesso in the background, and then added colours on top of the black which can be seen depending on the light.
